For the past seven years, COMP has led the national discussion on quality and safety in radiation oncology. This event has been tremendously successful, and we remain committed to our position as quality leaders in our community. To continue to provide world class continuing education opportunities for our members, COMP has identified the need to build on this success through two means.
First, the Science and Education Committee and the Board recognized that our current event does not address the needs of our medical imaging colleagues in Canada. After consultation with other stakeholders in the medical imaging community in Canada (CAR, CANM, and CAMRT) we will debut the inaugural Canadian Winter School on Quality Improvement and Radiation Safety in Medical Imaging in Montebello in February 2017. We are confident that this event will produce the same high level of community engagement and improvement to the quality of care that the radiation oncology event has been able to achieve.
Second, the Winter School on Quality and Safety in Radiation Oncology will continue in a new and expanded form in 2018. We believe that the methods and tools taught at the winter school deserve a broader audience, so we have decided to broaden the scope of this meeting. Details will be released after the current winter school.
Please promote the 2017 Winter School on Quality Improvement and Radiation Safety in Medical Imaging to your colleagues in the medical imaging community.
Thank you for your support and stay tuned!
