The annual COMP Winter School was initiated in 2009 and has provided a rich and unique opportunity to foster interprofessional collaborative relationships and embrace new knowledge, while advancing continuing education and professional development goals. The faculty for the Winter School has traditionally included medical physicists, physicians, technologists and therapists. The program is designed to maximize interaction between participants, with faculty and with industry partners and typically includes hands-on sessions and workshops, micro-debates and interactive discussion sessions.
For the first time, the COMP Education Committee is issuing an RFP for Winter School Topics. This RFP is intended for potential Winter School program directors to propose their ideas and intentions to the committee.
The Winter School is a key program for COMP for the following reasons:
Proposals are invited for the 2021 Winter School which will be taking place in western Canada (Note: location is subject to change based on topic selection and program requirements). Note: the accommodation and travel expenses for the Program Director are covered by the Winter School budget.
Proposals should include the following:
A sample program schedule can be found here. Please note your proposal is meant to serve as a suggested topic of interest, and the content and list of faculty may be modified by the organizing committee.
All proposals will be reviewed by the COMP Education Committee which will be responsible for the final selection of topic, content, organizer, and faculty. The quality of the submission is only the minimum requirement in the review process. Proposal selection will be based on criteria such as relevance to clinical practice and topics presented in previous years.
Thank you for your interest!
