The Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists is concerned by the global outbreak of COVID-19. We understand this is a challenging time for our members as we navigate through new territory. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our members, other healthcare workers and the general public. Here is some important information about situations that affect the medical physics community:

  • As our 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting is a joint meeting with the AAPM in July, COMP is part of the newly established Ad Hoc Committee to Respond to the Impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on AAPM Meetings (AHRICM). At this point the committee is monitoring the situation and there are no immediate plans to cancel the July meeting.
  • As has been communicated by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM), the CCPM Membership oral exams and Mammography exams scheduled for May 9-10, 2020 in Toronto are postponed. More information on the re-scheduling of the exams will be posted on the CCPM website and shared via ebroadcast as it becomes available.
  • The Canadian Association of Radiologists has made some changes to its Mammography Accreditation Program requirements please check their website for more information.
